Chandigarh, January 2, 2026: Minerva Academy Football Club (MAFC) once again proved its supremacy in Indian youth football by successfully defending its title at the 5th Under-17 All India Baba Fateh Singh Football Cup. With this victory, Minerva added a record 98th major trophy to its impressive collection.
In the final match, Minerva's young players delivered a powerful performance, defeating SBHS Mehna, Hoshiarpur 2-0. Both goals in the final were scored by star striker Laishram Mahesh, securing a resounding victory for the team.
This prestigious tournament was played in a knockout format, featuring 16 top teams from Punjab. The highlight of Minerva's title run was its impenetrable defense, as the team did not concede a single goal throughout the entire competition.
Team goalkeeper Daksh proved to be a formidable wall in defense, registering clean sheets in all four matches. For his outstanding performance, he was chosen as the best goalkeeper of the tournament.
