Chandigarh, January 5, 2026: Minerva asserted control right from the start and signalled their intent with an early breakthrough in the third minute. Raj capitalised on a positive attacking move and finished confidently to hand his side the lead, setting the tone for the remainder of the first half.
The early pressure soon paid further dividends as Minerva doubled their advantage in the sixth minute. Lumkin stepped up to convert a well-executed free-kick, placing the ball beyond the reach of the Corbett FC goalkeeper to give Minerva firm control of the contest.
Maintaining dominance in possession and territory, Minerva continued to create chances in the attacking third. Their sustained pressure was rewarded in the 42nd minute when Frenky produced a composed finish to make it 3–0, underlining Minerva’s control and attacking efficiency.
Corbett FC managed a response just before halftime, scoring in first-half stoppage time to reduce the deficit to 3–1 at the interval.
