Chandigarh, February 10, 2026: Minerva Academy F.C. extended their flawless run in the AIFF Sub Junior League with a scintillating 9–0 demolition of Corbett FC, registering their fourth consecutive victory to stay firmly atop Group A.
Arriving on the back of a hard-fought win against Namdhari FC, Minerva carried confidence and momentum into the fixture. The hosts asserted control from the outset, pressing high and dictating tempo. Their intent was rewarded early when Mamesh calmly converted from the penalty spot to open the scoring.
The pressure kept building as Bickson doubled the lead with a powerful long-range effort. Ten minutes later, Minerva struck again from a well-worked corner routine—Mamesh weaving past two defenders before finishing clinically to make it 3–0.
Minerva’s attacking surge showed no signs of easing. Bickson added his second with a thunderous strike at the far post, and just before halftime, Letgouhao Kipgen capped a dominant first-half display with a brilliant finish to send the hosts into the break 5–0 up.
The second half saw Minerva introduce three substitutions to test their bench strength—and the changes paid instant dividends. Substitute Manichandra announced himself in style with a stunning long-range effort to make it six. The onslaught continued as T. Kipgen added two smart finishes, exploiting spaces with intelligent movement inside the box. Deep into stoppage time, Bickson completed a deserved hat-trick in the 92nd minute to seal a comprehensive 9–0 victory.
The result further underlines Minerva Academy F.C.’s attacking prowess and defensive discipline. With 37 goals scored and just one conceded in four matches, Minerva set the benchmark in Group A.
Minerva Academy F.C. will look to continue their remarkable form when they face Mother’s Pride Football Academy on 17 February at the Minerva Academy Ground, as the Warriors aim to extend their winning streak in the AIFF Sub Junior League.
