It’s worth to witness Chancellor Angela Merkel wining a historic election victory on 22nd September 2013, attaining continuous third term as Chancellor of Germany.
It's a validation of Merkel leadership and her leadership style for which the Germans have once again accepted Angela Merkel as their sole leader. As witnessed in 2012, India and Germany have already broaden their cooperation and hope to focus on trade, bilateral investment, energy, hi-tech and defence committed themselves to EU-India negotiations and both India and Germany have strengthen the international non-proliferation regime. Even the Indo-German cooperation has benefited excellent prospects for developing both countries to the benefit of their peoples. Moreover during the Day of India in Germany 2012-13 in Berlin it was held by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and our Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh said that “Germany and India share the view that new initiatives in the area of trade, bilateral investment, energy, energy security, the environment, culture, education, training, research, technology and defence can catalyse and activate the great potential of their bilateral ties”.
It is hoped Germany and India can further expand their cooperation in higher education, research and technology - dynamic core areas of the Indo-German Partnership - and open up new and innovative areas of cooperation as it’s time India must initiate more and try to strengthen its strategic partnership with Germany under the Merkel dispensation.
