This initiative aims to confer formal ownership rights to occupants of residential properties in these historically underserved urban zones, enabling them to access loans, sell properties, and secure economic benefits.

Ludhiana, December 31, 2025: In a significant step towards empowering residents living in Lal Dora areas, the district administration is actively conducting ground truthing (field verification) to validate drone-surveyed maps under the Punjab Government's flagship 'Mera Ghar Mere Naam' Scheme. This initiative aims to confer formal ownership rights to occupants of residential properties in these historically underserved urban zones, enabling them to access loans, sell properties, and secure economic benefits.
Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain informed that the on-going survey covers 6,147 houses across eight villages under municipal jurisdiction: Kakowal, Gehlewal, Salem Tabri, Sherpur Khurd, Sherpur Kalan, Daba, Lohara, and Gyaspura. The survey work in several villages has been completed, with the remaining areas nearing finalisation.
To ensure precision and authenticity, 16 dedicated survey teams – comprising local revenue officials and MC employees working in close coordination and are meticulously carrying out on-ground verification of Map-1 prepared through advanced drone surveys.
Upon completion of this ground truthing exercise, Jain added that the verified survey report will be submitted for processing to prepare Map-2. As per the established procedure, Map-2 will be publicly displayed at prominent locations to invite objections from residents regarding ownership claims.
Notably, Map-2 for Haibowal Khurd has already been displayed in public places, and the process for inviting objections is currently underway.
The Deputy Commissioner reiterated the unwavering commitment to the transparent, efficient, and timely implementation of the 'Mera Ghar Mere Naam' Scheme, bringing long-awaited property security to thousands of families in Lal Dora areas.
