Panchkula, November 19, 2023: North India's biggest 3rd and 4th Championship Dog Show concluded here today at the show ground, Sector 3, Panchkula. The Mega Dog Show was organised by the Royal Kennel Club, Panchkula under the aegis of Pet Animal Health Society, Sector 3, and Animal Husbandry Government of Haryana.

Caroline Rowett, British Deputy High Commissioner, was the special guest at the prize distribution ceremony on the concluding day of the Dog Show. In her speech, while lauding the efforts of the Kennel Club, She said, “I am really glad to be a part of the show at Panchkula. Furry friends have always been close to humans and such events bring us close to them. “Awareness about various dog breeds is a must for harmonious co-existence in the society,” she added.

The show received an overwhelming response from the canine lovers across Tricity. While the competition in the Rottweiler and Labrador dog category witnessed massive participation from faraway places in the country this year, more than 50 breeds of Dogs were on display on the second day. We are sure the show will attract more visitors and more animal lovers in the next edition, said Sikander Singh, general secretary of the Royal Kennel Club.

Dr. Ranjit Singh, Deputy Director Animal Husbandry, Panchkula told that it had been a very successful edition. The footfall had been really impressive with pet lovers thronging the place from far flung areas. The best part of the show was awareness about some of the huge Dog breeds and training them.

Vice President Sarvpreet Chadha added that this edition of the Dog Show was different than the earlier ones. It was a championship show and I am glad to share that people have become more aware and concerned about their pets. The furry friends are a part of the family for most of them and such shows prove to be an apt platform to showcase the breeds and are significant for the preservation of the pure lineage.

While thanking the Haryana Animal Husbandry for their support, he added a MOU has been signed with them and with their support the club would keep organising Dog shows for the next five years.

Some of the dog breeds that were present on the concluding day of the show included Pomeranian, Pug, Maltese, Chihuahua, French Bulldog, Lhasa, Toy Poodle, Apso, Pekingese, Mastiff, Rottweiler, Gaddi, Sainit Bernard, Dogo Argentino, Labrador, German Shepherd, Siberian Husky, Chow, Akita inu, British Bulldog, Shih Tzu, Standard Poodle.
