Ludhiana, February 25, 2026: A meeting was held to review preparations for the MGNREGA Bachao Rally of senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, scheduled to take place in Barnala on February 28 under the leadership of Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring. Party workers are showing great enthusiasm ahead of the rally.
The meeting was chaired by Pawan Dewan, former President of the District Congress Committee Ludhiana (Urban) and former Chairman of the Punjab Large Industrial Development Board. It was held at Sarabha Nagar in Ludhiana.
Addressing the gathering, Dewan said that the Central Government, by weakening the MGNREGA law, has harmed the interests of crores of people across the country. He asserted that the Congress Party would continue its struggle until the scheme is fully restored. He added that a massive turnout is expected at the rally being addressed by Rahul Gandhi in Barnala.
Among others Inderjit Kapoor, District Congress SC Department President Deepak Hans, Rohit Pahwa, Jaswinder Singh Namdhari, K.K. Suri, Happy Kapoor, Jodha Ram Jakhmi, Mohit Chugh, Maninder Singh Ubhi, Ravinder Bawa, Parmjit, Varun Sharma, Gurnam Singh Kaler, Rajnish Singla, Dharminder Verma, were also present on the occasion.
