Meer Ali enters Sony SAB's Dharm Yoddha Garud as the crafty demon - Mahishasur

Sony SAB's Dharm Yoddha Garud won hearts with its masterful rendition of a fascinating tale, and it is now keeping its audience interested by reiterating the meaning, and teachings of Garud's life.

In the show, viewers are currently watching the story of Devi Durga, her nine forms, and how each lesson impacted Garud's life. In the previous episodes, we saw that one of the strongest asuras in mythology, Tarakasur, was killed by lord Kartikeya. Further, the audience will know the story of Devi Durga, who is also called Mahishasuramardini (Slayer of Mahishasur). Mahishasur is a mythological character described as a crafty demon who follows his wicked goals by changing his physical form. Meer Ali will be seen playing the part of Mahishasur in this track.

Sharing his excitement about his role, Meer said, "Mahishasur is a powerful figure to play and one of the main antagonists of the plot. I am overjoyed to play this character since he plays a significant role in the journey of the legendary goddess Durga. I was prepared to take on the role when I learned more about Mahishasur's character arc because it differed from the previous characters I had played."

Talking about his preparation to play the great Mahishasur, he said, "While we were doing the look test, the first thing that came to my mind was the picture of a crazy bull full of power and anger. During my discussion with the creative team and the director, I mentioned the same, and we inculcated some attributes and body language of the bull. For example, kicking the feet on the ground in a rage. To perform this character, a masculine yet evil voice modulation was mandatory. The creative team played an amazing part in bringing Mahishasur to life as we worked on the body language, vocals, tonality and outfit. I especially enjoyed my look in the show. After the effects were added in post-production, my final look was terrifying and befitting of an Asur who has the personality and strength of a bull. The boons he got made him invincible, but his bull-headedness made him look down on the power of women and objectify them."

Meer also spoke about the challenges of the role. He mentions, "Playing this character is extremely challenging, as I have never played an Asur before. To get into the skin of the character, I have to be 1000 times louder than I'm in real life. It also becomes exhausting as I have to make sure to deliver loud demonic laugh, as people have seen earlier. There is 3-3.5 hours of work put in to make me look like Mahishasur! Though it was tiring to go through the transformation, I enjoy myself incredibly from the beginning to the end of the day."
