As part of the ‘Sade Buzurg, Sada Maan’ campaign launched by the Punjab government to ensure welfare of elderly, the Department of Social Security and Women and Child Development and the district administration on Wednesday organized a Medical check-up, felicitation camps held under Sade Buzurg, Sada Maan program in Guru Amardas Old Age Home, Sarabha village.
Ludhiana, February 11, 2026: As part of the ‘Sade Buzurg, Sada Maan’ campaign launched by the Punjab government to ensure welfare of elderly, the Department of Social Security and Women and Child Development and the district administration on Wednesday organized a Medical check-up, felicitation camps held under Sade Buzurg, Sada Maan program in Guru Amardas Old Age Home, Sarabha village.
District Social Security Officer Varinder Singh Tiwana informed that the camp witnessed a footfall of more than 710 participants registered for various services. A total of 290 persons availed free/subsidized OPD consultations, while 55 beneficiaries received AYUSH medicines. Special focus was given to senior citizens, with pension application forms processed, Senior Citizen Cards issued, and over 100 queries related to pension and senior citizen schemes addressed. The camp also facilitated legal aid interactions through DLSA and provided guidance to attendees regarding Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
Tiwana added that the camp successfully brought essential government, health, legal, financial, and wellness services directly to the community, significantly easing access for senior citizens and other deserving groups in the region. He further informed that similar camps will be held in Nishkam Seva Old Age Home, Village Behla on Feb 18 and Guru Nanak Charitable Trust, Gurmat Bhawan, Mullanpur on Feb 25. He appealed to all eligible beneficiaries to make maximum use of these camps.
