MDU VC Prof. Milap Punia pays floral tributes at the State War Memorial
MDU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Punia paid floral tributes today to the brave soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces at the State Level War Memorial on the MDU campus, marking Kargil Vijay Diwas. VC Prof. Punia laid a wreath at the memorial in remembrance of the soldiers’ courage, bravery and supreme sacrifice.
Rohtak, July 26, 2026: MDU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Punia paid floral tributes today to the brave soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces at the State Level War Memorial on the MDU campus, marking Kargil Vijay Diwas. VC Prof. Punia laid a wreath at the memorial in remembrance of the soldiers’ courage, bravery and supreme sacrifice.
VC Prof. Milap Punia said the nation remains indebted to the Armed Forces for their decisive victory and continued vigilance. “We are safe and secure in our homes because of the untiring efforts and supreme sacrifices of our soldiers,” he said. He urged that the heroic deeds of the armed forces be widely celebrated and taught to younger generations so their sacrifices are not forgotten.
The Vice Chancellor also interacted with the veterans, acknowledging their service and calling their example an inspiration for youth across the country.
MDU Registrar Prof. Sandeep Bansal, Director Public Relations Sunit Mukherjee, Director Youth Welfare Dr. Pratap Rathee, and Kargil war gallantry awardee Brig. Harbir Singh, chief consultant (MDU), were among those from the University Community who paid floral tributes saluting the Brave Warriors of Indian Armed Forces today.
The Kargil Vijay Diwas commemorative programme was organized by the Zila Sainik Board, Rohtak, under the supervision of ZSB secretary Wing Commander Gaurika Suhag.
