Rohtak, June 15, 2026: MDU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Punia conducted a surprise inspection of the university canteen (UFO), located at the Activity Centre, on Monday to assess the quality, nutritional value, and hygiene of the food, as well as the pricing of food items. He interacted directly with students dining there to gather feedback on the food quality and overall arrangements. Registrar Prof. Sandeep Bansal accompanied the Vice-Chancellor during the inspection.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Punia inquired about the quality of food items, preparation processes, hygiene standards, and the menu from the canteen operators. He stated that the university administration's priority is to provide students with clean, safe, and nutritious food. No compromise regarding food quality and hygiene standards would be accepted.

The Vice-Chancellor encouraged students to opt for a nutritious diet instead of fast food, emphasizing that student convenience and satisfaction are paramount. He also sought the students' views regarding the canteen. He instructed the concerned officials to maintain regular monitoring of cleanliness and quality in the canteen and to ensure there is no compromise on the quality of food items. He remarked that the university strives to provide students with a healthy and positive environment alongside their academic pursuits.

Dean Students' Welfare Prof. Sapna Garg, Director of Youth Welfare Dr. Pratap Rathi, and PRO Pankaj Nain were also present during the visit.
