MDU Professor Yudhvir Singh Appointed Shekhawati University VC
Prof. Yudhvir Singh of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Maharshi Dayanand University’s (MDU) University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Shekhawati University, Sikar.

Rohtak, September 25, 2026: Prof. Yudhvir Singh of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Maharshi Dayanand University’s (MDU) University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Shekhawati University, Sikar.
Prof Singh, currently a professor at UIET, also serves as Director of the University Computer Centre and Director of the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Centre for Skill and Vocational Education at MDU.
With nearly 25 years of experience in teaching, research and academic administration, Prof Singh has held several key positions at MDU, including Director of UIET, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Dean of the College Development Council, AICTE Coordinator and Head of the Department. He has also served at Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, and MMEC, Mullana.
He holds a BE in Computer Science and Engineering from CR State College of Engineering, Murthal, and an ME in Software Engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, where he secured First Class Honours and stood first. He earned his PhD from Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar.
His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, Network Security and Mobile Communication. He has published more than 150 research papers in national and international journals and conferences and holds five patents. He has supervised 15 PhD scholars and is currently guiding eight research scholars, besides supervising more than 30 Master’s students.
Prof Singh has also worked as Principal Investigator/Co-Investigator in two UGC-funded projects on Network Security. He received the Young Scientist Award from the International Academy of Physical Sciences in 2010, besides several other academic honours.
The appointment was welcomed at MDU. Vice-Chancellor Prof Milap Punia, Registrar Prof Sandeep Bansal, Dean Academic Affairs Prof Randeep Rana, faculty members, non-teaching staff and the university community congratulated Prof Singh and wished him success in his new assignment.
