MDU PG Freshers Told: Turn Knowledge into Solutions for Society, Nation
Experts at Maharshi Dayanand University’s (MDU) postgraduate (PG) induction programme urged newly admitted students to use their education, research and talent to address social challenges and contribute to nation-building.

Rohtak, September 1, 2026: Experts at Maharshi Dayanand University’s (MDU) postgraduate (PG) induction programme urged newly admitted students to use their education, research and talent to address social challenges and contribute to nation-building.
Speaking at the morning session at Tagore Auditorium, ophthalmology expert and former Vice-Chancellor of BMU Rohtak, IGU Rewari and Gurugram University, Dr Markandey Ahuja, addressed students on “Master Your Mind, Master Your Life.” He stressed positive thinking, self-discipline, goal-oriented efforts and control over one’s mind. Citing the Bhagavad Gita, he advised students to focus on their actions rather than worry about results.
In the afternoon session, Prof. Dhruv Chaudhary, Head of Pulmonology and Critical Care at UHSR, spoke on “From Science to Society.” He said science remains incomplete without social connect and urged students to apply scientific knowledge and innovation to solve real-world problems. Citing Albert Einstein, Sir C.V. Raman, Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Mahatma Gandhi, he encouraged students to nurture curiosity, scientific temper and innovation.
Presiding over the programme, MDU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Poonia called upon students to make “Nation First” the guiding principle of their lives. He said education should go beyond earning a degree and empower students to contribute to national progress through knowledge, research and innovation.
Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Randeep Rana highlighted MDU’s academic and research achievements, while Librarian Dr Satish Malik familiarised students with Vivekananda Library’s digital services and resources. Dean Students Welfare Prof. Sapna Garg welcomed the students and Registrar Prof. Sandeep Bansal proposed the vote of thanks.
