The Chemistry Department of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) has made a strong mark in research, winning all three Best PhD Thesis Medals under the University Research Promotion Scheme for the academic session 2024-25.

Rohtak, August 20, 2026: The Chemistry Department of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) has made a strong mark in research, winning all three Best PhD Thesis Medals under the University Research Promotion Scheme for the academic session 2024-25.

Three department research scholars have been selected for the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, while another scholar has been recommended for an award for outstanding research performance.

Pawan Kumar, working under the supervision of department chair Prof. Devender Singh, has been recommended for the University Gold Medal for Best PhD Thesis. He will receive a citation and a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.

Pooja, under the supervision of Prof. Preeti Bura Doon, has been selected for the Silver Medal and will receive Rs 51,000 along with a citation. Hina, working under Prof. R.K. Malik, has been selected for the Bronze Medal and will receive Rs 31,000 and a citation.

In another recognition, Renu, supervised by Prof. Komal Jakhar, has been recommended for a Certificate of Appreciation, citation and Rs 11,000 for her academic and research performance in the CIF >10.00 category.

HoD Prof. Devender Singh said the achievement reflected the hard work of the scholars, guidance of their supervisors and the department’s research-oriented academic environment.

MDU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Puniya congratulated the scholars and their supervisors, saying the achievement would encourage students to pursue innovation and impactful research.
