MDU Alumna Sneha got selected as an Officer in the IAF; Vice-Chancellor extends Heartfelt Congratulations

Sneha Hooda, an alumna of MDU’s Department of English and a cadet with the 2nd Haryana (Girls) Battalion, NCC (Rohtak), has been selected as an officer in the Flying (Pilot) Branch of the Indian Air Force (IAF).

Rohtak, June 24, 2026: Sneha Hooda, an alumna of MDU’s Department of English and a cadet with the 2nd Haryana (Girls) Battalion, NCC (Rohtak), has been selected as an officer in the Flying (Pilot) Branch of the Indian Air Force (IAF).

On Wednesday, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Punia warmly congratulated and honored Sneha Hooda for this prestigious achievement.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Punia remarked that Sneha has brought laurels to both the university and the state. Her glorious achievement will inspire other girls to pursue careers in the Indian Armed Forces. He interacted with Sneha and her parents—Harveer Hooda and Parvati Hooda—at the Vice-Chancellor's office, encouraging Sneha to remain dedicated to her studies and pursue higher education in the future.

It is noteworthy that Sneha completed her B.A. (Honours) in English (2022-25) from MDU’s Department of English. She also received guidance and training under the university's Youth Centre for Skill Development.

Director of Public Relations Sunit Mukherjee, along with NCC officers Dr. Aarti and Dr. Vikas, were present on the occasion. Notably, Sneha’s father, Harveer Hooda, is also a former Air Force personnel.
