MCL to fine those not segregating dry and wet solid waste 

Ludhiana: The Municipal Corporation Ludhiana has decided to go strict on residents who fail to segregate dry and wet solid waste. Regular checking would be carried out in this regard, besides fines would also be imposed on people violating these rules.
    MC Commissioner Mrs Kanwal Preet Kaur Brar has written a letter to all Zonal Commissioners in this regard and have directed them to ensure 100% compliance that dry and wet solid waste is segregated during door to door collection. She has directed them to send a daily report on this regard by 9:15 am along with a duly filled performa.
    It is pertinent to mention that during the recent visit of National Green Tribunal (NGT) team, they had reviewed the collection of segregated dry and wet solid waste from households. It was observed that regular checking and fine is necessary so that the people involved in collection of garbage do not lift mixed solid waste./(Feb 20)
