MCL issues instructions to coaching centres for fire safety arrangements

Ludhiana: In view of fire incidents at coaching centres, the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana has issued instructions to the coaching centres for maintaining fire safety arrangements. MC Commissioner Mrs Kanwal Preet Kaur Brar informed that strict instructions have been issued to owners/managements of all coaching centres situated within the municipal limits, where a large number of students study to maintain proper fire safety arrangements as per the chapter 4 of National Building Code 2016 (NBC). She said that they would have to ensure all equipments are installed and duly checked by the Fire Safety Officer, MC, Ludhiana, after which an NOC would be issued to them.

She informed that any coaching centre who fails to follow these instructions, make necessary arrangements, and fails to get a No Objection Certificate (NOC), and if any fire incident takes place in their premises, then the sole responsibility would be of the building owner, coaching centre owner/management.
