A two-day workshop on GST was held in Chennai yesterday and today. Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) the oldest industry organization in Tamil Nadu and the second oldest in India, organized this national level workshop.
The objective of this workshop is to update the members of the current changes in GST law and the processes for business owners. Topics like Customs & GST, Scope of supply, Valuation under CGST Act 2017, Input Tax Credit, Economic Criminal Laws & GST were discussed in this workshop.
Srivats Ram,  Immediate Past President, MCCI &  MD, Wheels India Ltd., welcomed the gathering. K. Vaitheeswaran, Chairman, MCCI - GST Committee gave a brief introduction of the workshop. Mandalika Srinivas, IRS,  Principal Chief Commissioner of Central Excise & GST, Tamil Nadu & Pondicherry was the chief guest of this event and inaugurated the workshop yesterday.  R. Gopakumar, Co-Chairman, MCCI - GST Committee delivered the vote of thanks.
“GST @ 5 years - Benefits, Challenges & Expectations” and “Overlap between Accounting, Direct Taxes and Indirect Taxes” are the topics taken for panel discussion in this workshop.  Industry experts from various states of the country delivered their addresses here.  More than 100 delegates participated in this event.
