MC General House: Mayor leads fruitful house meet aimed at sustainable development; major resolutions approved for devp of city during peaceful house meet
In a bid to ensure sustainable development, the general house of Municipal Corporation (MC) led by Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur approved major resolutions during the peaceful house meet held at Dr BR Ambedkar Bhawan near Jalandhar bypass on Friday.
Ludhiana, December 26, 2025: In a bid to ensure sustainable development, the general house of Municipal Corporation (MC) led by Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur approved major resolutions during the peaceful house meet held at Dr BR Ambedkar Bhawan near Jalandhar bypass on Friday.
MLA Ashok Prashar Pappi, MLA Madan Lal Bagga, MLA Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal, MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu, MLA Rajinder Pal Kaur Chhina, Senior Deputy Mayor Rakesh Prashar, Deputy Mayor Prince Johar, MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal among other councillors and Civic body officials were present in the meeting.
Tributes were also paid to the martyrdom of 'Chaar Sahibzaade (Four sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji)' during the house meet.
Fruitful discussions were held during the 'zero hour' wherein the councillors of both ruling and opposition parties were given equal opportunities for taking up matters that are important for development of the city. Necessary directions were issued to the concerned officials of the civic body on the spot to resolve the issues.
Resolutions to provide jobs to next to kin of approx. 65 deceased employees on compassionate grounds; naming Hero Bakery chowk as Sri Guru Teg Bahadur chowk; naming KIdwai Nagar as Gosain Nagar; expanding city limits; recruitment of employees on regular and DC rate basis among other major resolutions were approved during the house meeting. The road leading to Baba Deep Singh Gurdwara has been named after Baba Deep Singh Ji.
Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur stated that the general house meeting concluded with positive outcomes and fruitful deliberations were held for development of the city. Working under the guidance of Chief Minister (CM) Bhagwant Singh Mann, they have been continuously working towards the development of the entire city without any discrimination with any of the councillors. Development projects worth crores are being taken up in Ludhiana city.
Different initiatives have also been taken to improve solid waste management in the city including major projects to dispose off legacy waste. These projects also aim at improving the city's ranking during the upcoming Swachh Survekshan.
Seeking continuous support of the residents and elected representatives, Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur stated that they are leaving no stones unturned for making Ludhiana - number 1 city.
