Mayor Inderjit Kaur takes stock of situation in areas alongside Buddha Dariya; issue necessary directions to authorities to drain out rainwater

Ludhiana, September 1, 2025: After the city witnessed incessant rainfall, Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur remained active in the field to monitor the situation and inspected various low lying areas especially those situated in the vicinity of Buddha Dariya on Monday. 
 
Necessary directions were issued to the authorities and field staff to drain out rainwater from the city areas at the earliest and strengthen the banks of the Buddha Dariya.

Mayor Inderjit Kaur conducted inspections in Shivpuri, Jain Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, areas on Tajpur road, Haibowal among other areas. Zonal Commissioner Jasdev Sekhon among other officials were also present during the inspection.

Mayor stated that the civic body and administration are working actively to tackle the situation which has arised due to incessant rainfall. Entire machinery and staff is working at ground level and every effort is being made to drain out rainwater at the earliest. 

Meanwhile she appealed to the residents to remain inside their houses unless for an emergency as rainfall is further expected in the city as per the weather forecast.
 
Further Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur stated that the councillors of the respective wards are also in their touch and the teams of civic body are monitoring the situation day and night.
