Mayor Inderjit Kaur, MLA Prashar inaugurate New Madhopuri Puli; project to stop waterlogging and streamline movement of traffic

Ludhiana, September 3, 2026: Working to improve road infrastructure and connectivity, Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur and Ludhiana Central MLA Ashok Prashar Pappi inaugurated the newly constructed New Madhopuri Puli (bridge) over Buddha Dariya on Thursday.
The puli has been constructed at a cost of around Rs 1.98 crore and this will streamline the movement of traffic in the area.
Councillor Pardeep Sharma Gabby, Raju Vohra among others were also present during the inauguration ceremony.
MLA Prashar stated that the old Madhopuri puli was in bad shape for a long time. Low height of the old puli also resulted in water logging in the area during the rainy season.
Mayor Inderjit Kaur and MLA Ashok Prashar added that construction of this new puli will stop waterlogging in the area and it will further streamline the movement of traffic.
Mayor Inderjit Kaur and MLA Ashok Prashar Pappi said that working under the guidance of Chief Minister (CM) Bhagwant Singh Mann and Local Bodies Minister Harjot Singh Bains no stone is being left unturned to development quality infrastructure.
Feedback is also being taken from the residents to bring a positive change at the ground level. More projects worth crores would be launched in the coming days to facilitate the residents at large, they added.
