Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu dedicates beautification and development works in Gian Singh Rarewala Market

Ludhiana, August 23, 2021: Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu on Monday inaugurated the beautification and development works in decades old Gian Singh Rarewala market which were taken up by civic body at the cost of Rs 70 lakh. 

Accompanied by Punjab Youth Development Board chairman Sukhwinder Singh Bindra, Punjab Medium Industrial Development Board Chairman Amarjeet Singh Tikka, Mayor said that it was long pending demand of the businessmen operating in this market to build washrooms, its beautification, improvement of parking lot and road carpeting. 

He said that Municipal Corporation Ludhiana was tasked by Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu to initiate the development works in the market which witnesses huge footfall immediately after the representatives of the market met him. 

Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu added that the market is four decades' old and adjacent to Regional Passport Office due to which it has become necessitated to develop this place to facilitate the people. He reiterated his firm resolve to restore the pristine glory of Ludhiana and ensure its holistic development.

Senior Congress leader Kamaljit Singh Karwal said that the state government has emphasized on developing road infrastructure and providing basic amenities to the citizens, making Ludhiana one of the best cities in the world.

PYDB Chairman Sukhwinder Singh Bindra said that Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh led state government was committed towards the all-round development of the state and to achieve this aim several projects worth multi crores were launched thus paving a way for all round development of basic infrastructure.

Punjab Medium Industrial Development Board Chairman Amarjeet Singh Tikka expressed his gratitude towards the Cabinet Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu for allocating Rs 70 lakh for this project.
