Mohini Daljeet Singh, Chief Executive, Max India Foundation interacting with underprivileged people who have benefited from free Artificial Limbs & Polio Calipers camp in past .This year Max India Foundation will hold 5-day ‘free Artificial Limbs & Polio Calipers camp’ for the underprivileged people at Gurudwara Gur Shabd Prakash, Akal Ashram opposite Guru Harkishan Super Speciality Hospital premises, Sohana from April 7-11.

Chandigarh, April 4, 2014: Max India Foundation the corporate social responsibility wing of Max Group today announced to hold 5-day ‘free Artificial Limbs & Polio Calipers camp’ for the underprivileged people. Addressing a press conference at a hotel here today, Mohini Daljeet Singh, Chief Executive, Max India Foundation informed that the camp will be held at Gurudwara Gur Shabd Prakash, Akal Ashram opposite Guru Harkishan Super Speciality Hospital premises, Sohana from April 7-11.

The camp is aims to provide artificial limbs and polio calipers free of cost to over 500 deprived people who may have lost one or both of their limbs to an accident, injury, disease, electric shock or Polio. Each limb and caliper will be custom made by skilled technicians from Mahavir Viklang  Sahayta Samiti, New Delhi. After registering the patients, measurements will be taken and the limbs and calipers will be manufactured on the spot. The patients will be encouraged and motivated to practice using the limbs at the camp itself and prepared, physically and emotionally, to go back and face the world with renewed vigour and confidence. Free stay and meals for the patient and one caretaker will be provided at the Gurudwara by Max India Foundation. Employees from the Max Group of companies based in and around Chandigarh like Max Speciality Films, Max Super Speciality Hospital Mohali and Max Life Insurance company have volunteered to participate in this mega-camp.

Mohini said that Max India Foundation believed in respecting every individual and helping the poor live a healthy life of dignity. By providing an artificial limb, we were not only trying to overcome the physical disability of a person, but have also given him new hope for life and the confidence to rebuild his dreams for himself and his family. We extended sincere gratitude to our partners in this initiative. In the last 6 years, we have helped 3062 people and we hope to take this noble initiative to greater heights every year.”

Mohini expressed gratitude towards the management of Guru Harkishan Super Speciality Hospital and Gurudwara Gur Shabd Prakash Akal Ashram for their forthcoming cooperation and willingness to be part of this initiative by lending their facility to be the venue of the camp. The management and staff have volunteered their participation in this initiative.
