On World Pneumonia Day 2025, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Bathinda raised awareness about pneumonia which is a preventable and treatable disease that remains one of the world’s leading infectious killers, particularly among young children and older adults.
Bathinda, November 11, 2025: On World Pneumonia Day 2025, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Bathinda raised awareness about pneumonia which is a preventable and treatable disease that remains one of the world’s leading infectious killers, particularly among young children and older adults.
Dr. Manan Bedi consultant pulmonology said, “World Pneumonia Day calls on us to recognize that every breath matters, to ensure clean air, good hygiene practices, vaccination, timely diagnosis and access to oxygen and treatment. By raising awareness and mobilising action, we can help prevent pneumonia, reduce its impact across the life-course, and move closer to the goal of health for all.”
Dr. Manan further said, “Pneumonia is not just a disease of the developing world; it affects all age groups across all regions. Avoidance of environmental risk factors, following proper hygiene practices,vaccination ,early detection, and timely medical care can save lives. Public awareness and community participation play a key role in fighting with this silent epidemic.
As part of the awareness drive, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Bathinda, is also organising a free respiratory health camp, awareness talks, and interactive sessions for parents, caregivers, and senior citizens. During this awareness drive, the health experts from Max Hospital, Bathinda, will highlight the importance of flu and pneumococcal vaccination, good nutrition, and respiratory hygiene to prevent infections.
