Mass demonstration of surya namaskar event held at PGGC -11 as a part of closing ceremony 75 lakh surya namaskar initiative

College of Yoga Education and Health, Sector 23 A, Post Graduate College, Sector 11, Chandigarh, Haryana Yog Aayog, Panchkula and Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Chandigarh jointly organized a Mass Surya namaskar event to mark of closing ceremony 75 lakh surya namaskar initiative on the birthday of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati at PGGC, Sector 11, Chandigarh.

Chandigarh, February 15, 2023: Govt. College of Yoga Education and Health, Sector 23 A, Post Graduate College, Sector 11, Chandigarh, Haryana Yog Aayog, Panchkula and Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Chandigarh jointly organized a Mass Surya namaskar event to mark of closing ceremony 75 lakh surya namaskar initiative on the birthday of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati at PGGC, Sector 11, Chandigarh. 

Yashpal Garg, Secretary Health, Chandigarh Administration was the chief guest and Dr. Jaideep Arya, Chairman, Haryana Yoga Aayog was the guest of honor for the occasion. 

The event started with a lecture on Nasha Mukt Bharat by Prabhjot Kaur Atwal, Nodal Officer of Nasha Mukt Bharat, Chandigarh Administration in which she clarified many doubts about the adverse effect of the drugs. 

Dr. Mahender Singh, Principal GCYEH greeted the guests with a bouquet of flowers and in his welcome speech he spoke about the benefits of surya namaskar in the improving the health of the masses. Thereafter, a beautiful yoga demonstration was given by the students. 

After this the main program of mass demonstration was organized by the coordinator of the program Roshan Lal in which the masses performed many rounds of surya namaskar together. 

The guest of honor Dr. Jaideep Arya in his address explained about how our country is a cusp of different cultures and we must respect versatility of the Indian traditions as we respect plants, nature, elements since ages. He also told that though it was 75 lakh Surya namaskar initiative but at the end around 7.5 crore surya namaskars were completed.  The chief guest in his presidential address told that yoga should be an integral part of the regime which also helps to take decisions in one’s regime and taking decisions on right time can make or break a person. 

On this occasion the college newsletter of GCYEH ‘Yog Vrittant’ was released. The principal of PGGC 11 Dr. Sangam Kapoor was also present at the occasion. 

Dr. Mohinder Kumar held the stage and also delivered the vote of thanks. Approximately 750 students and public members participated in the event.
