Martyr Pritpal Singh cremated with full state honours

Samrala, (Ludhiana), August 10, 2025: Indian Army soldier Lance Naik Pritpal Singh from Manupur village near Samrala, who attained martyrdom during an ongoing Indian Army operation in the Akhal, Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir, cremated with full state honours on Sunday in his native village Manupur. 

Samrala MLA Jagtar Singh Diyalpura, along with Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Samrala Rajnish Arora, SP Tejvir Singh Hundal paid tributes to the martyr on behalf of the Punjab government and district administration respectively. 

Soldiers of the Indian Army performed the ceremonial last salute.

MLA Jagtar Singh Dialpura stated that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann expressed solidarity with the martyr’s family, assuring that the Punjab Government stands with them in this difficult times. He emphasized that the martyr performed his duty with utmost bravery and dedication, and his sacrifice will continue to inspire future generations. The MLA added that the state government would provide financial assistance to the family as per its policy. He  remarked that the freedom we enjoy today is because of sacrifices made by the brave soldiers like Pritpal Singh. 

SDM Samrala Rajnish Arora, while sharing condolences with Pritpal Singh’s wife Manpreet Kaur, father Harbans Singh, mother, and brothers, affirmed that the district administration would always be ready to assist the family. 

It is pertinent to mention here that Pritpal Singh had joined the Indian Army in 2015. His uncle and father’s elder brother are also retired army personnel. Pritpal Singh had married just six months ago and had returned home on leave for the wedding.
