Former Punjab Minister Manoranjan Kalia today paid floral tributes to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on the occasion of their birth anniversaries.

Jalandhar, October 2, 2026: Former Punjab Minister Manoranjan Kalia today paid floral tributes to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on the occasion of their birth anniversaries.
Kalia paid floral tributes by garlanding the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Company Bagh, Nehru Garden, Jalandhar, and the statue of Lal Bahadur Shastri at Shastri Market Chowk, Jalandhar.
Kalia said Mahatma Gandhi is remembered for his non-violent movement that played a significant role in India's freedom struggle against British rule. He said Lal Bahadur Shastri, with his slogan of “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan”, appealed to the people to observe a fast once a week when the country was facing a food-grain crisis.
