BJP National Executive Member and former Punjab Minister Manoranjan Kalia strongly condemned the arrest of BJP leaders in Punjab, terming it a cowardly act by the Aam Aadmi Party Government.

Jalandhar, August 21, 2025: BJP National Executive Member and former Punjab Minister Manoranjan Kalia strongly condemned the arrest of BJP leaders in Punjab, terming it a cowardly act by the Aam Aadmi Party Government.
Kalia stated that BJP leaders in Punjab had organized awareness camps in rural areas to highlight the Union Government’s social welfare policies and programs being implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He alleged that many of these schemes are either pending or not being implemented in Punjab, thereby depriving rural people of their benefits.
“It is an act of dictatorship that BJP leaders were detained even though they were working in a positive direction for the welfare of the masses,” Kalia said.
He further added that senior BJP leader and former MP Sushil Rinku, former Chief Parliamentary Secretary Krishan Dev Bhandari, along with other party leaders, were arrested at the behest of the AAP Government. Kalia claimed that such autocratic measures are often taken when there is a strong wave of change against the ruling government.
