Manoj Dhiman read a research paper on 'Contribution of litterateurs of Punjab to Hindi literature' in the national seminar held at GNDU

Ludhiana, November 19, 2023: Hindi writer and local journalist Manoj Dhiman participated and read his research paper on the topic 'Contribution of litterateurs of Punjab to Hindi literature' in the two-day national seminar organised in the Hindi Department of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, under the joint aegis of Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad, Delhi and Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra (Ministry of Education, Government of India). The convener of this seminar was Dr. Sunil, Chairman of the Hindi Department of the University, and the event was organized under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor (Dr.) Jaspal Singh Sandhu.

Dhiman read his research paper as the keynote/guest speaker in the fifth session of the second day of the seminar for which he was also presented with a certificate.

After his return here, Dhiman said today that in his research paper he stated that there is no doubt that the litterateurs of Punjab have made a huge contribution to Hindi literature. He said that the creation of Hindi language and literature started in the 10th century from Lahore, the Majha region of undivided Punjab. He also mentioned some important books published on Hindi literature of Punjab, in which details from 993 to 2012 have been given. He mentioned the extensive research done on Hindi literature.

Dhiman admitted that a lot has been written on the Hindi literature of Punjab. But, this should not be considered the end because there are always possibilities for any work.
Therefore, there is a need to do more research in this area regarding the past, present and future. In this, not only the litterateurs but also the universities of Punjab can play an important role. This will give a new energy and direction to Hindi literature being written in Punjab.

In his research paper, Dhiman said that in the past there was a dispute between Punjabi and Hindi. Even today perhaps some people want this controversy to continue so that their politics can continue. But, literature has no limits. Literature written in one state can leave its mark on the readers of another state. Therefore, literature should not be bound by language. He said that Hindi literature in Punjab is not only alive but is also flourishing. The credit for this goes only to the Hindi litterateurs of Punjab who are creating literature by putting everything at stake. Novels, stories, poems, plays, short stories etc. are being created by litterateurs.

In his research paper, Dhiman further stated that some Hindi litterateurs born in Punjab have settled in other states and are making themselves and Punjab proud there too. Among these, the name of Kamlesh Bhartiya can be taken prominently. On the other hand, for one reason or the other, some have come from Hindi speaking states and settled in Punjab. Therefore, the work of these litterateurs also cannot be denied in future.
