Manish Tewari Inaugurates MPLADS-Funded Digital Library Computers at GGDSD College

Manish Tewari inaugurated newly installed computer systems in the Digital Library at GGDSD College, procured with Rs. 10 lacs grant issued under MPLADS (Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme), significantly strengthening digital infrastructure and enhancing academic resources for students.
Chandigarh, April 3, 2026: Member of Parliament Sh. Manish Tewari inaugurated newly installed computer systems in the Digital Library at GGDSD College, procured with Rs. 10 lacs grant issued under MPLADS (Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme), significantly strengthening digital infrastructure and enhancing academic resources for students.
The initiative aims to improve access to digital learning tools and research facilities, enabling students to engage more effectively with technology-driven education and academic pursuits.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent members of the college management, including Sh. Jatinder Bhatia, Finance Secretary, and Dr. P.K. Bajaj, Dr. S.K. Sharma, and Dr. S.C. Vaidya, General Secretaries of GGDSD College Society, along with other governing body members. The Principal, Dr. Ajay Sharma, was also present on the occasion.
In his address, Dr. Ajay Sharma highlighted the institution’s growing emphasis on research through the establishment of dedicated research centres at the college. He noted that these centres aim to foster a robust research culture at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, encouraging students and faculty to engage in meaningful academic inquiry and innovation.
Addressing the gathering, Manish Tewari underscored the importance of strengthening digital access in higher education and reaffirmed his commitment to initiatives that promote academic excellence and inclusivity. He also applauded the college for its consistent achievements in national rankings, including recognition in the NIRF and other prestigious ranking frameworks.
The management welcomed the initiative, noting that the upgraded digital facilities would significantly enhance the teaching-learning environment and support the institution’s academic and research ambitions.
