Mamta Ashu demands report on all cases related to approved building maps/compromise cases for this fiscal
MC Councillor from ward number 67, Mrs Mamta Ashu.

Ludhiana: MC Councillor from ward number 67, Mrs Mamta Ashu today wrote a letter to MC Commissioner Ludhiana stating that the Municipal Town Planner has failed to submit a report regarding all cases related to approved building maps/compromise cases of this financial year along with details as to what CLU and EDC rates and on the basis of which letter/directions of the government were being levied.
She stated that the Local Government Department of Punjab had issued a letter regarding increasing the Change of Land Use, EDC and other charges. Before implementing these orders/letter, this matter was presented in the General House meeting of MC, where objections were raised regarding it, after which Mayor had formed a committee to prepare and submit a report regarding these increased charges.
She said that Municipal Town Planner (MTP) MC Ludhiana was appointed member secretary and a meeting of all other members was held. During the meeting, this fact came to light that CLU and EDC charges while clearing of building maps are being levied differently in each MC zone. After which the MTP/Member Secretary was asked to submit a detailed report mentioning all cases related to approved building maps/compromise cases of this financial year and the MTP would specify as to what CLU and EDC rates and on the basis of which letter/directions of the government were being levied.
Mrs Mamta Ashu said that till date, the MTP has failed to submit this report in front of the committee. In the letter issued today, the MC Councillor has demanded from the MC Commissioner that the MTP should be asked to submit this report within next two days to the committee members and a meeting in this regard should be convened for May 26, 2020.
