Mamta Ashu and Nodal Officer Vaccination hold meeting with school principals regarding vaccination of 15-18 age group

Ludhiana, December 28, 2021: Regarding the upcoming vaccination of those aged between 15-18 years, MC Councillor Mamta Ashu and ADC Jagraon-cum-Nodal Officer Vaccination Dr Nayan Jassal today held a meeting with principals of schools, mainly from Ludhiana (West) constituency. This meeting was held at Bachat Bhawan in District Administrative Complex and was attended by principals of several prominent schools.

It is pertinent to mention that in view of the Omicron variant of Covid scare, the Union government has announced that teenagers aged between 15-18 years would be vaccinated from January 3, 2022 onwards. So to discuss the action plan through which this age group is to be vaccinated, was discussed in today’s meeting.

Mamta Ashu urged the parents to encourage their children for getting themselves vaccinated as vaccination helps in fighting the Covid, even if one gets infected. She said that in larger interest of the society and to ensure that our children stay safe, parents should get their children vaccinated at the earliest.

She said that to cover maximum children in age groups of 15-18 years, special vaccination would be organised in schools. She said that besides, children can visit any other camp too if they want to get vaccinated.

Dr Nayan Jassal said that people, who are yet to receive their second dose of vaccination, should also come forward and get themselves fully vaccinated. She said that a large number of residents are yet to receive their second jab of Covid19 vaccination, because sadly, such people believe that the Covid19 has become thing of the past, which is not true. She said that everyone knows that with the new variant ‘Omicron’, people should not take Covid19 lightly and should get fully vaccinated by visiting their nearest centre.

She informed that some people still have their misconception that Covid19 vaccination is not safe and that is why, they are not coming forward. “Such people should understand that if anyone wants to travel to any part of the globe, they require a Vaccine Passport Certificate, that they would get only when they are fully vaccinated,” she said while adding that even for visiting Gurudwara in Shri Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan, they need to be fully vaccinated.
