Jalandhar, September 20, 2019: The Post Graduate Department of Punjabi, Lyallpur Khalsa College, in collaboration with the Punjabi Sangeet Natak Academy commenced a two-day special literary and cultural program.
The opening day on 20th September featured Malwai Gidha, Folk Songs and play enactment.
College Principal Dr.Gurpinder Singh Samra and Kewal Dhaliwal, President Punjabi Sangeet Natak Academy presided over the proceedings and they were joined by Lakhwinder Johal, General Secretary Punjab Arts Council and Dr.Sukhwinder Singh Sangha, Head, Department of Punjabi, Guru Nanak Dev University Regional Campus Ladhewali.
Dr.Gopal Singh Buttar Head, Department of Punjabi duly welcomed the guests to the institution and lauded their collective efforts regarding Punjabi language and culture. Artists from Malwa Art and Cultural Society Chandigarh also performed on this occasion along with Lopoke Brothers winning many plaudits from the audience.
Ikattar Singh, Director Chandigarh Group of Colleges also performed an impressive enactment of the play ‘Jhana da paani’.
The program was managed from the stage by Dr.Sukhwinder Singh.
Principal Dr.Gurpinder Singh Samra informed that the second day of the event will also witness similar impressive performances from Gurpreet Waris, Lakha Lehri and other cultural artists.
An MoU was also signed on this occasion by Lyallpur Khalsa College and Manch-Rangmanch Amritsar.
Faculty members and students from various Departments of the college were also present on the occasion.
