Ludhiana, August 28, 2013: SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar has categorically denied that he had ever compared performance of the government-run educational institutes in state with that of the SGPC-run educational institutions.
Addressing a press conference here today, he added he had never made any such statement in the press.
Rather, he claimed that his statement had not been published in the Press in a true spirit.
Makkar said he had spoken about better performance of the SGPC-run educational institutions, adding his statement had been published in the media after giving a twist into it.
It may be mentioned here a certain sections of the Press today published that addressing a function held at the SGPC-run Khalsa College at Patiala Makkar stated that the government-run institutes in state could not match the performance of SGPC-run educational institutions. The media reports appearing today also stated that Makkar while addressing the gathering said the SGPC was doing a far better job than the Punjab Government in running educational institutes.
