Nilokheri, September 14, 2026: Dr Virender Singh Chauhan, Director of Haryana Institute of Rural Development (HIRD) said that Hindi is not merely a language of communication but a reflection of India’s culture, traditions and emotions.
Addressing a Hindi Diwas programme on Monday at the State Institute of Engineering and Technology, Nilokheri, he urged students to embrace Hindi as a part of their identity while using technology to expand its reach.
HIRD Director said the use of Hindi was growing rapidly across digital platforms, social media, education, administration and mass communication. “Hindi must not remain confined to a subject; it should be promoted as a language of knowledge, technology and innovation,” he said.
Citing Japan and China as examples, Chauhan said these countries had strengthened their languages by integrating them with education, administration, technology and mass communication. India, too, could enhance the global influence of Hindi by connecting it with modern science, technology and knowledge.
He also stressed the importance of learning other languages, saying linguistic diversity strengthens the exchange of knowledge and ideas.
SIET Director Anil Kumar Roz said Hindi was an integral part of India’s rich heritage and engaging the younger generation with the language was a collective responsibility.
Teachers, students and parents present at the programme pledged to promote wider use and greater respect for Hindi.
