Major Punjab Police campaign against gangsters — SSP Khanna Dr. Darpan Ahluwalia calls for public cooperation to make the state crime-free

Khanna (Ludhiana), February 17, 2026: To make Punjab free from crime and gangsterism, Punjab Police has launched a large-scale campaign. Informing the public in this regard, SSP Khanna Dr. Darpan Ahluwalia said that Punjab Police is firmly committed to completely eliminating organized crime and gangster networks in the state. Public cooperation is essential to achieve this goal.
Dr. Darpan Ahluwalia stated that anyone who has reliable information related to gangsters, their associates, or any kind of criminal activity can share it confidentially and without fear through the anti-gangster helpline number. He emphasized that the identity of the informant will be kept completely confidential and their safety will be ensured.
The SSP further said that a reward of up to ₹10 lakh has been announced for providing reliable and concrete information leading to the arrest of gangsters, so that people can come forward without hesitation and contribute to the fight against crime. He added that this campaign against gangsters and criminals is not just the responsibility of the police, but a collective responsibility of the entire society.
Dr. Ahluwalia also mentioned that in recent times, Punjab Police has taken several major actions against gangsterism, arresting many dangerous criminals, dismantling their networks, and recovering illegal weapons. However, to reach the roots of gangsterism and eliminate it completely, public information and cooperation are extremely important.
He said that when citizens cooperate with the police, the morale of criminals is automatically weakened. Eliminating the atmosphere of fear in society and maintaining peace and harmony is the main objective of this campaign. Social awareness is especially necessary to keep youth away from criminal elements and to guide those who may be going down the wrong path.
The SSP Khanna appealed to all residents of the district to raise their voice against crime without fear and work together with the police to help make Punjab a safe, peaceful, and crime-free state. He said, “Only by working together can we make Punjab secure.”
Dr. Darpan Ahluwalia assured that Punjab Police will take immediate action on every piece of information and that criminals will not be spared at any cost. This comprehensive campaign will further strengthen law and order in the state and help citizens feel safer
