Major drug bust in Nurpur: Police seize over 3,600 bottles of liquor
As part of its ongoing campaign against drug abuse, the Nurpur Police District took significant action against the drug mafia in the Sanjhi Pul area under the jurisdiction of Nurpur Police Station.

Dharamshala, December 27, 2024: As part of its ongoing campaign against drug abuse, the Nurpur Police District took significant action against the drug mafia in the Sanjhi Pul area under the jurisdiction of Nurpur Police Station.
Providing details, SP Nurpur , Ashok Ratan stated that a massive consignment of illegal liquor was intercepted last night. Authorities seized 271 crates of country liquor (3,252 bottles totaling 24,39,000 milliliters), 27 crates of English liquor (324 bottles totaling 2,43,000 milliliters), and 5 crates of beer (60 bottles totaling 39,000 milliliters) from a truck (Bharat Benz, registration number HP64-A-4163).
The truck was operated by two accused who have been identified.
A case has been registered against both individuals under Section 39 (1) of the Excise Act (case number 290/24 dated December 27, 2024). The accused have been taken into custody, and further legal proceedings are underway.
SP Nurpur emphasised that the Nurpur Police District is committed to maintaining "Zero Tolerance Against Drugs" and will continue its relentless campaign against the illegal drug trade to safeguard the community.
