Major Breakthrough in Lambagaon Jewellery Theft Case; Gold Recovered, Five Arrested

Following the successful detection of the recent burglary at the residence of a lady doctor in Dharamshala, in which stolen valuables were recovered and two accused, including a woman, were arrested, the Kangra Police have achieved another major breakthrough in a separate theft case.

Dharamshala, July 9, 2026: Following the successful detection of the recent burglary at the residence of a lady doctor in Dharamshala, in which stolen valuables were recovered and two accused, including a woman, were arrested, the Kangra Police have achieved another major breakthrough in a separate theft case.
Superintendent of Police, Kangra, said that the police have solved a jewellery theft case registered at Lambagaon Police Station, recovering 47.69 grams of stolen gold ornaments (including beads) and arresting five accused, including the prime female suspect.
The theft case was registered as FIR No. 39/2026, dated May 6, 2026, under Section 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
During the investigation, police arrested the prime female accused along with other suspects and subjected them to sustained interrogation. Supported by technical evidence, investigators traced the stolen jewellery to Haryana. Acting on disclosures made by accused Ravi, a resident of Hisar district, Haryana, the police recovered 47.69 grams of gold ornaments that had allegedly been purchased and concealed by him.
Police said that all five accused have been arrested and legal proceedings have been initiated against them. Further investigation is in progress to ascertain whether the accused were involved in any other similar offences.
The Kangra Police have appealed to residents to install CCTV cameras at their homes and business establishments, remain vigilant against unknown hawkers and suspicious persons, and keep jewellery and cash in secure locations. Citizens have also been urged to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or the police helpline, assuring that the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
Reiterating the force's commitment to curbing crime, the Kangra Police said, "Alert citizens are the hallmark of a safe society. Our action against crime will continue relentlessly, and no offender will be spared."
