Main Accused in Naveen Arora Murder Case arrested after brief shootout in wee hours
Three nabbed so far; Two still at large as police probe motive
Ferozepur, November 20, 2025: In a brief shootout during the early hours today, Ferozepur Police arrested the main accused in the murder of Naveen Arora, son of local RSS leader Baldev Raj Arora, who was shot dead on Saturday evening.
SSP Bhupinder Singh said police received information about the movement of Gursimran Singh alias Jatin Kali near Sodhiwala in Arifke village. Acting swiftly, the police cordoned off the area and set up multiple nakas.
“The police team signalled a fast-moving motorcycle to stop near Arifke, but the rider attempted to flee. A chase followed,” the SSP said. During the pursuit, Jatin allegedly opened fire at the police party, with bullets hitting the front windscreen of a Bolero vehicle. The driver had a narrow escape. The police retaliated, injuring the accused in the leg. He fell from the motorcycle and was subsequently shifted to Civil Hospital for treatment.
The SSP said the accused had used a .32 bore pistol to fire at the police. “We are verifying whether this is the same weapon used in the murder of Naveen Arora,” he added.
Notably the police had yesterday arrested two other accused involved in the murder of Naveen Arora identified as Harsh and Kanav. The identity of another accused has been withheld by the police on the grounds that disclosure may hamper investigation. A fifth accused, identified as Badal, remains absconding.
