These sentiments were expressed by Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan, Director of the Haryana Institute of Rural Development (HIRD), while addressing the villagers at a tribute program organized on the death anniversary of Maharana Pratap in Nigdu village today. Dr. Chauhan offered a floral garland at the statue of Maharana Pratap in Nigdu and paid his respects.

Nilokheri, January 19, 2026: Maharana Pratap was not just a historical warrior, but an eternal symbol of self-respect, courage, and patriotism. These sentiments were expressed by Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan, Director of the Haryana Institute of Rural Development (HIRD), while addressing the villagers at a tribute program organized on the death anniversary of Maharana Pratap in Nigdu village today. Dr. Chauhan offered a floral garland at the statue of Maharana Pratap in Nigdu and paid his respects.

 

Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan said that Maharana Pratap sacrificed everything for the protection of his motherland, but never compromised on his self-respect. His life teaches us that true bravery lies in remaining steadfast on the path of truth and righteousness even in difficult circumstances.

 

Describing Maharana Pratap's life as a living inspiration for today's youth, Dr. Chauhan said that he displayed indomitable courage and leadership abilities even with limited resources. In today's times, when society is grappling with challenges to moral values, Maharana Pratap's ideals inspire us to become self-reliant, dutiful, and dedicated to the nation. He said that the life story of Maharana Pratap teaches us that the nation comes first. Working for the benefit of society and the country, rising above personal comforts, is the true tribute to him.

 

HIRD Director, Dr. Chauhan appealed to those present to adopt Maharana Pratap's ideals in their lives and contribute to building a strong, self-respecting India. He made the villagers pledge to ensure the maintenance, preservation, and regular cleaning of the statues and memorials of great personalities. He said that true homage to great personalities should not be limited to offering flowers, but maintaining the dignity of their memorials is a collective responsibility of all of us.

 

Village Sarpanch Montu, Dr. Sube Singh Rana, Dr. Sundar Rana, Sandeep Rana, Sant Rana, Raj Kumar, Pawan Sharma, Naresh Chuchra and Dr. Inder, along with other dignitaries, were present on the occasion. Everyone offered flowers at the statue of Maharana Pratap, paying tribute to him and pledging to follow his ideals.
