Chandigarh, June 3, 2025: In a significant new initiative, the scientists and researchers will have a unique opportunity to directly connect with industry and commercialise their innovations at MACHMA EXPO-2025, a four-day exhibition organized by the Technology Enabling Centre (DST-TEC) at Panjab University, from November 14 to 17 at Parade Ground, Sector 17, Chandigarh.
The unique event is expected to feature over 400 industrial stalls and attract more than 10,000 industry professionals from across the country. It will serve as a platform for academia to present technologies, patents, R&D outputs, and prototypes to a business audience, encouraging collaboration, investment, and technology transfer.
The expo will feature joint exhibitions from both industry and academia. While industry participants will display commercial products, academic institutions will showcase innovations developed in research labs. This integration is designed to bridge the longstanding gap between research and market adoption.
The expo also aims to encourage startup creation, offering youth the chance to engage with scientists and propose business ventures based on academic technologies. The presence of investors and High Net Worth Individuals (HNIs) is expected to further boost the potential for funding and scaling up innovations.
In addition to showcasing technologies, academic institutions will also highlight training programs tailored for industry professionals and exhibit lab capabilities available to industry partners on a paid basis.
A major feature of MACHMA EXPO-2025 will be a conference where industry leaders will outline specific challenges and innovation needs. During dedicated five-minute sessions, industry representatives will pitch these real-world problems to academia, aiming to initiate paid consultancy and R&D collaborations.
Now in its 12th edition, this is the first time academia will formally participate as exhibitors, marking a shift toward deeper academia-industry engagement and mutual innovation.
