Lyalpur Khalsa College Jalandhar organizes  Orientation Program for Newcomers

Jalandhar, July 14, 2026: On the first day of the academic session 2026-2027, Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar, a leading educational institution of North India, organized an orientation program especially for the new students admitted to the college. Students admitted to about 20 different courses/departments running at the college participated in this program. At the beginning, the Principal of the college, Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu, welcomed all the new students and told them that it is a matter of great pride for you that the great institution of which you have become a part is an institution that has produced many renowned personalities for the country. That is why this institution is famous all over the world. He assured the students that the dreams with which you have come to this institution will definitely come true. The main purpose of this special program was to make the new students aware of the various facilities and various activities in the college. In this special program, the students were informed in detail about the semester system, planning of studies and syllabus, internal examinations, time table, placement cell, special efforts taken by the college in the field of sports, various events of the Youth Festival that college participates in and NSS, NCC (Army and Air Wing), PMS scholarship, security of the main gate, vehicle parking, canteen and mess facilities, identity card, bus pass, library related facilities and special rules regarding discipline were also also explained. The students were also told about the importance of the course in which they have taken admission. During the program, the students of BA, B.Sc. (Economics) B.P.E.S., B.A.J.M.C. were addressed by Dr. Balraj Kaur, Dr. S. S. Bains, Dr. Harjinder Singh, Dr. Pooja Rana and Dr. Anu Moon, Prof. Satpal Singh and Prof. Karanbir Singh. B. sc. (Med. & Non Med), B. Sc. (BT) and Medical Lab Technology students were briefed by Dr. Arun Dev Sharma, Dr. Geetanjali Modgil, Dr. Narvir Singh, Dr. Upma Arora and Dr. Surbjit Singh while B.P.T. students were briefed by Dr. Raju Sharma and Dr. Jaswant Kaur. B. Sc. (AI & ML), B.C.A., B Sc. (IT), B Sc. (CS), B.Sc. (SD), B.Voc (SD) and B.D.M.M. students were briefed by Dr. Sanjeev Anand and the entire staff of the Department of Computer Science & IT, while B.B.A., B.Com, B.Com (Financial Service), B.Com (Tax Planning) students were briefed by Prof. Amita Shaheed and the entire staff of the Department of Commerce & Mgt. 
Dr. Harjit Singh (Head, Dept. of Mathematics) wished all the students and encouraged them to attend classes regularly and study with full dedication. The heads and teachers of all the departments of the college were present on this occasion.
