Lyallpur Khalsa College put up exhibition of goods made by Green Sparrow Project

Jalandhar, November 1, 2021: The Grievance Redressal Cell of Lyallpur Khalsa College organized an exhibition of old cloth items under the Green Sparrow Project which was well received and all the decorative and usable items made from old materials were appreciated and procured. Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar has promised full support to The Ajit Singh Foundation Society under which this exhibition and sale has been organized so that the girls working under this project can sell their wares and earn a living. Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra alongwith the staff participated in the exhibition. He said that this is a great initiative of S. Ajit Singh Foundation under which a group of 10 girls collect old clothes and make bags, sacks, purses, foot stools etc. from them. He said that due to the dedicated efforts of the President of the society Ramanpreet Kaur this social service organization was working in a very good manner. He said that our organization is always committed to protect the environment and create an eco-friendly environment. Going forward in this field, our college has signed an MOU with Ajit Singh Foundation under Green Sparrow Project. The president of the society Ramanpreet Kaur said that under a project by S. Ajit Singh Foundation, plastic bags are being replaced with cloth bags to protect the environment from the dangers posed by plastic. These manufactured goods are sold to create employment for girls and women. In this exhibition, the college's NSS unit, teachers and students provided great support. The coordinator of this exhibition, Dr. Gagandeep Kaur on behalf of S. Ajit Singh Foundation Society thanked and encouraged to organize such exhibitions in future. On this occasion, Prof. Arunjit Kaur, Porf. Jaswinder Kaur, Dr. Upma Arora, Dr. Heminder Singh and Prof. Surbjit Singh were present.
