Jalandhar, August 19, 2025: To mark World Photography Day, the PG Department of Computer Science and IT of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, organized a vibrant Photography Competition in the Software Development Lab (SD Lab).

The event provided students with an opportunity to showcase their creativity and technical flair through the lens of a camera, while also promoting photography as both an art form and a tool for digital expression. The competition was held under two central themes: “Nature” and “Architecture of the College Campus.” Students of Journalism and Multimedia participated with great enthusiasm, capturing striking images that highlighted the natural beauty and architectural elegance of the college grounds.

The event served as a platform to blend artistic vision with digital skills, essential in today’s multimedia-driven world. Principal Dr. Suman Chopra was invited as the Chief Guest, accompanied by the Registrar, Dr. Gagan Deep Kaur. The faculty members of the department extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries.

In her address, the Principal lauded the initiative of the department and praised the participants for their keen eye for detail and creativity. She also emphasized the importance of visual arts and photography in contemporary communication, especially in the era of digital storytelling.

In the results, Palak (BAJMC, Sem 5th) secured the First Prize, Rajdeep (BDMM, Sem 3rd) won the Second Prize, while Deepali (BDMM, Sem 1st) bagged the Third Prize.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Anand, Head of Department, who expressed gratitude to the Governing Council, the college Principal for her constant guidance, and the dedicated efforts of the organizing team, teaching and non-teaching staff, and student participants.

The competition witnessed the presence of all faculty members along with 80 students, out of which 40 students actively participated. The stage was conducted by Prof. Anjali Bhardwaj.
