Lyallpur Khalsa College Organizes Enthusiastic Freshers’ Party to Welcome New Students
The P.G. Department of Computer Science and IT of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, organized a vibrant “Freshers’ Party” to warmly welcome the new batch of students. The event was marked by enthusiasm, creativity, and joyful interaction between seniors and newcomers.
Jalandhar, October 27, 2025: The P.G. Department of Computer Science and IT of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, organized a vibrant “Freshers’ Party” to warmly welcome the new batch of students. The event was marked by enthusiasm, creativity, and joyful interaction between seniors and newcomers.
Principal Prof. Navdeep Kaur graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. She congratulated and welcomed the new students at the beginning of their academic journey and encouraged them to make the best use of the learning opportunities offered by the institution.
The programme began with a formal welcome of dignitaries, followed by a series of engaging cultural performances including modelling, dance, songs, poetry, and games. The freshers introduced themselves creatively and took part in various competitions, earning distinctive titles.
The title of Mr. Fresher was awarded to Vishal Bhatt (BSc IT Sem 1) and Ms. Fresher to Mitali (BSc CS Sem 1). Muskan (BCA Sem 1) bagged the title of Ms. Confident, while Sahilpreet (BCA Sem 1) earned Mr. Confident. Dhruv Anand (BCA Sem 1) was crowned Mr. Fitness Freak, and Anjali (BSc CS Sem 1) was named Ms. Fashion Icon. Shubham (BDMM Sem 1) won the title of Mr. Handsome, and Sandhya (BCA Sem 1) received Ms. Charming.
The competition was judged by Prof. Ratnakar Mann, Dr. Daljit Kaur, and Prof. Sonu Gupta. Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Anand, Head of the Department, appreciated the efforts of the staff and senior students for organizing the event successfully and motivated the newcomers to excel in both academics and co-curricular activities.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Ratnakar Mann. Around 150 students attended the function. Faculty members Dr. Daljit Kaur, Prof. Navneet Kaur, Prof. Jaspreet Kaur Saini, and other teaching and non-teaching staff were also present. Stage management was efficiently handled by Dr. Daljit Kaur and Prof. Jaspreet Kaur Saini, assisted by student coordinators Simran, Sonali, and Nikita.
