Lyallpur Khalsa College organizes Alumni Tech-Talk

PG department of Computer Science and IT, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar organized an Alumni Tech-Talk Program with Madhu Sudan who completed his M.Sc. Computer Science from 2002-2004 in the college. This program was organized to abridge the gap between academia and IT Sector and to connect the students of the department with old students working in different spheres on top positions of respective sectors.

Jalandhar, March 27, 2024: PG department of Computer Science and IT, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar organized an Alumni Tech-Talk Program with Madhu Sudan who completed his M.Sc. Computer Science from 2002-2004 in the college. This program was organized to abridge the gap between academia and IT Sector and to connect the students of the department with old students working in different spheres on top positions of respective sectors.  

After the formal welcome of the guest, Principal, Dr. Jaspal Singh, lauded the department's proactive initiative and advised students to embrace industry essentials through engaging seminars. He added that this kind of initiatives improve students' knowledge and skills, and enable them to acquire the relevant expertise needed in the dynamic world. 

The main speaker, Madhu Sudan who is presently working with Microsoft Company in California, USA, shared his valuable experience of 22 years in IT industry and described how he has contributed in the development of world class software like Microsoft Teams, Skype etc. He also recalled his college days when he founded techno students association of the department. He described various challenges in IT industry and emphasized that abundant opportunities wait for computer science graduates and postgraduates in the ever-expanding tech field. 

Madhu Sudan inspired students to utilize the college's cutting-edge computer labs to craft real-world projects. As the seminar drew to a close, there was an engaging question and answer session. 

At the end Head of Department Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Anand delivered vote of thanks. 

On this occasion, Prof. Sandeep Bassi, Prof. Mandeep Singh Bhatia, Dr. Sandeep Singh, Dr. Manpreet Singh Lehal, Dr. Daljit Kaur, Prof. Navneet Kaur other faculty members of the department were also present. 

More than 100 students of the department benefited from this seminar.
