Lyallpur Khalsa College lifts first runner-up trophy in youth festival

Jalandhar, November 18, 2022: Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar continued its impressive run in the field of cultural activities by winning the first runners up trophy of C-Zone, Youth Festival Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar. The latest edition of the Youth festival was organized by Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar wherein 16 Colleges of the region affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University competed in various  cayegories. The college participated  in 36 events and won the first runners up trophy by scoring 112 points. The College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra informed that the college won first prize in 07 events, second in 16 events, third in 05 events en route to claiming the podium finish.
Positions Won by the College in Multiple events are as Follows:
•First Prize: Bhangra, Folk Song, Kavishri Classical Instrument (Per), Costume Parade, Geet/Gazal, General Dance (Luddi).
•Second Prize: Clay Modelling, Cartooning, Classical Music Vocal Solo, Vaar Singing, Folk Orchestra, Classical Instrument (Non-Per), Mime, Western Instrumental (Solo), Western Vocal (Solo), Western Group Song, Group Shabad, Group Song, One Act Play, Poetical Symposium, Elocution, Classical Dance.
•Third Prize: Installation, Collage Making, Mimicry, Rangoli, Skit.
Dr. Samra expressed his sense of gratitude towards President, Governing Council Sardarni Balbir Kaur, for her support in paving the way for success in academics as well as in Cultural activities. He also congratulated Dr. Palwinder Singh Dean Cultural Affairs, teams incharge, staff and students of the college on this achievement. He also informed that the college teams were all set to compete in the upcoming Inter-Zonal Youth Festival being organised from 19-21 November, 2022.
