Grievances cell and NSS units of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar in collaboration with Indian Pediatrician Association Punjab organised a seminar to conclude National Nutrition Month. During the whole month, there were series of events like inaugural lecture, competitions like poster making, recipe making and slogan writing with primary focus on nutrition, plantation, water management and child care. In the concluding seminar, Principal Dr Gurpinder Singh Samra With grievance cell convenor Dr Gagandeep Kaur and NSS Program Officer Satpal Singh welcomed resources persons Dr. Sarvinder Singh and Sarpanch Sh. Kulwinder Bagga with bouquets of flowers. Dr. Samra in his address emphasized on the well being of females and children. He added that in real terms they are the indicators of a nation's progress and country's overall growth depends on their development. Dr. Sarvinder in his address discussed balanced nutritious diet, implementation of diet plans, childcare and how to make children eat healthy food. He also discussed the adverse effects of junk food and unhealthy eating habits. Sarpanch Mr Bagga Talked about water management and plantation. He said that there is lack of good and healthy character in society. He added that emphasis should be on character building to be a key player in nations progress. Then in award ceremony, winners of poster making, slogan writing & nutrition recipe makers were given prizes and certificates. Prof. Satpal Singh delivered vote of thanks. Dr. Upma Arora played the role of stage secretary. During the event, Dr. Jaswinder Kaur, Dr. Suman Chopra, Dr. Palwinder Singh, Dr. Jaswant Kaur, Dr. Dinkar Sharma, Dr. Ajitpal Singh, Dr. Navjot Kaur, Dr. Amandip Kaur and Prof. Surbjit Singh were present.
