Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar celebrates International Yoga Day

Jalandhar, June 21, 2025: NSS Unit Lyallpur Khalsa College in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Jalandhar and Red Ribbon Club, LKC organized a Yog Session in the morning to celebrate International Day of Yoga on the theme ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’. Principal Dr. Suman Chopra was the chief guest of the event. She, in her address, said that Yog is the legacy of India which is now highly valued across the globe. She added that in today's fast moving world where stress and alienation is taking a toll on the human body, Yog is a significant solution to balance mind, body and soul. She opined that Yog not only brings peace of mind but also flexibility in body. During the session, Yog Asanas like Surya Namaskar, Prayanam, Tadasana, Shav Asana etc. focusing on breathing, flexibility and muscle strength were performed. NSS volunteers, students and staff performed the asanas in unison. NSS program Officer Prof. Satpal Singh informed that this Yog Session was organized under the directions of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India. During this event, trainer Sakshi Sharma, while performing asanas, explained the correct way to do asanas as well as their benefits and impact on body and mind.
