Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar celebrates International Yoga Day

Jalandhar, June 21, 2025: NSS Unit Lyallpur Khalsa College in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Jalandhar and Red Ribbon Club, LKC organized a Yog Session in the morning to celebrate International Day of Yoga on the theme ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’. Principal Dr. Suman Chopra was the chief guest of the event. She, in her address, said that Yog is the legacy of India which is now highly valued across the globe. She added that in today's fast moving world where stress and alienation is taking a toll on the human body, Yog is a significant solution to balance mind, body and soul. She opined that Yog not only brings peace of mind but also flexibility in body. During the session, Yog Asanas like Surya Namaskar, Prayanam, Tadasana, Shav Asana etc. focusing on breathing, flexibility and muscle strength were performed. NSS volunteers, students and staff performed the asanas in unison. NSS program Officer Prof. Satpal Singh informed that this Yog Session was organized under the directions of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India. During this event, trainer Sakshi Sharma, while performing asanas, explained the correct way to do asanas as well as their benefits and impact on body and mind. This soul soothing experience was witnessed by Neha Sharma, District Youth Officer, Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu, Dean Sports, Dr. Balraj Kaur, HOD English, Prof. Amita Shahid, Prof. Sanjeev Anand, HOD Computer Science & IT, Dr. Hariom Verma, Prof. Ahuja Sandeep, Dr. Dinkar Sharma, Dr. Priyank Sharda, Dr. Palwinder Singh, Dean Cultural Affairs, Dr. Manju Joshi, Dr. Surinder Pal Mand HOD Punjabi, Dr. Ajitpal Singh, Dr. Surabjit Singh, Dr. Harjinder Kaur, Dr. Ravneet Kaur, Dr. Nitika Chugh, Prof. Simranjit Singh, Prof. Sonu Gupta, Prof. Vineet Kumar Gupta, Prof. Ajay Kumar, Prof. Manveer Pal, Surinder Kumar Chalotra, P.A. to Principal, teachers of different departments and a significant number of students.
