Lyallpur Khalsa College Concludes Folk Dance Camp

Jalandhar, July 21, 2025: A ten-day Folk Dance Bhangra training camp was organized from July 10-19 with the aim of promoting Punjabi folk dances at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar. More than 425 Bhangra lovers participated in this camp. 
Dr. Suman Chopra was the Chief Guest on the last day of this camp. She was welcomed by organizing committee with a bouquet. Principal Dr. Suman Chopra said that the motive of the camp was multi-dimensional focusing on promotion of cultural heritage, health and fitness and college’s social contribution. Explaining the history and heritage of folk dance Bhangra, she added that the camp witnessed participation from all age groups ranging from 3 to 70 years.  She appreciated the efforts of organizing committee who, through this event, presented an opportunity of physical fitness and mental well being to the participants. 
On this occasion, Dr Palwinder Singh, Dean Cultural Affairs said that this camp has been a regular annual feature of the college from last 8 years and this time also people from surrounding towns and districts have shown great enthusiasm to learn Bhangra. He added that the students of College Bhangra and Luddi teams worked tirelessly to train the participants in this camp. During the event, presentations of Bhangra were given by all the participants, old & present students of college Bhangra team and college staff. Then, Principal Dr. Suman Chopra distributed certificates, medals and mementos to the participants, volunteers, sponsors and staff. 
During this event, the stage was moderated by Prof. Satpal Singh. At the end of the camp, Dr. Palwinder Singh Bolina thanked the guests. During this conclusion ceremony, Vice Principal Prof. Navdeep Kaur, Prof. Gagandeep Kaur, Prof. Sanjeev Anand, Prof. Rajnish Modgill, Prof. Harjinder Singh Sekhon, Dr. Ajitpal Singh, Dr. Karanbir Singh, Dr. Surbjit Singh, Prof. Manish Goel, Dr. Ravneet Kaur, Dr. Harjinder Kaur, Prof. Sonu Gupta, Prof. Sandeep Cheema, Prof. Vineet Kumar Gupta, Prof. Onkar, Prof. Jasdeep Singh, Prof. Rakhi Talwar, Coach Jatinder Lambar, Sukhjit Singh and Jaysonpreet Singh were also present.
